Lyonnais, Gabriel Claude Jules Favre (1809-1880) fit ses études de droit à Paris, où il assista à la révolution de 1830. Louis Matthieu Mole was a French monarchist statesman who held office under Napoleon I, Louis XVIII, and Louis-Philippe. After the July Revolution of 1830, Molé served Louis-Philippe as prime minister and minister of foreign affairs (1836-39).
